[Almighty Lord to thee I lift]

Almighty Lord to thee I lift

My longing Eyes in prayer,

O let thy Goodness set me free

From ev’ry dang’rous Snare.

Turn and reveal thy smiling Face,

Have Mercy, gracious God,

For pain’d with anguish, low I sink

Beneath thy chast’ning rod.

Increasing troubles rend my heart

And rob my Soul of peace;

Grant me support and let thy pow’r

Remove my deep Distress.

Lord, for thy name, thy mercy sake,

My numerous sins forgive;

Let pardon flow divinely free,

O smile and bid me live.

Illume my sin beclouded Eyes

And guide me in thy ways;

Direct me still and teach my heart

Obedience, Love, and praise.
