Sophia Parsons, 19 Colet Place, Commercial Road, London, to Joseph Angus, Walworth, 22 May 1842.
Dear Sir
The accompanying letter was written whilst on my passage from India—and addressed to a dear relative. Its Contents by him to have been Communicated to the friends of this Mission—but before his arrival in England he had departed from this world; I then felt disposed to suppress it—but finding by a note from Mr Thomas that he had sanctioned to you the request he made—that I would give some information respecting Patna.
I am induced to forward this letter without alteration
Believe me dear Sir
Very respectfully yours
Sophia Parsons
